The Stafford Township Police Department was managing millions of dollars of assets using spreadsheets and an outdated CAD module. Assets, gear and inventory included patrol cars, radios, firearms, body armor, tactical gear and ammunition. After a surprise audit exposed gaps (e.g. inability to produce real-time inventory or historical logs), leadership adopted NovoGov to overhaul their asset and inventory workflows. With the new system they gained full visibility and accountability over every officer-issued item, vehicle component, and consumables. It also enabled officers to do digital vehicle inspections that automatically trigger the creation of work orders if maintenance issues were noted. NovoGov centralized procurement, vendor records, pricing and item histories which made onboarding of new officers or temporary staff much smoother. The department now knows what’s in every car, what every officer has, when equipment expires, and are confident they’re audit-ready and professional.

The Town of Dover, MA has a population of just under 6,000. The DPW staff of 21 is responsible for a broad range of services including highways, fleet, cemetery, parks and grounds, engineering, streetlights, solid waste, and snow and ice operations. Public Works Director, Kevin McCabe, recognized the need to modernize operations and improve transparency and accountability across departments. Reporting inefficiencies, lack of real-time communication, and growing resident expectations highlighted the urgent need for a better approach to work order and asset management.

Pequannock Township, New Jersey, maintains a robust Public Works department with approximately 22 employees covering streets, fleet, stormwater, parks, buildings and grounds, along with some water system responsibilities. Prior to NovoGov, the Township was using another software solution to manage work orders and asset tracking. While the old software met some initial expectations, the system lacked ease of use, integration, and modern communication capabilities.
